Talk about mind blowing sensations! Within just a few years of forming, Insta have established themselves, almost overnight, as the creators of a truly new sound in popular music: a sound which is only marginally related to the current musical trends, yet is fresh enough to attract the attention (and applause) of teeny boppers and their older sisters and their parents and pop musicians as well.

The excitement generated throughout the country by the groups first "Horn Rim Fury" CDep, which featured the smash hit "Sydney", has been staggering. When asked about the bands ambitions, the group's founders Adam and Catherine both took out ball point pens and on a small piece of paper each drew a star. A lofty goal one might think, yet strangely attainable when considering the group is comprised of such talented, articulate, and hansome young individuals:

Insta exploded onto the POP scene a little over a year ago. In this short space of time, the group has gone on to attract a large and devoted throng of followers throughout the US, which has, in turn, lead to jaunts to both New York (CMJ & INTEL Festivals) and Texas (SXSW). Overseas, in far flung places like Spain and Japan, Insta have enjoyed massive pop success. In fact my fine pop friends, more than half of all their records end up there. But, no matter where Insta are, you can bet, it'll be wherever the action is!

Now with the release of their debut full-length "Checklist for Love," Insta seems ever more poised for full-blown success. All the songs on this stunning record are supremely melodic and anchored in the summery sixties sound of strum-happy pop.

(Oh yes, for those of you not in the know, Adam and Catherine's legacy of songwriting smarts goes back in time further than the brief amount of time spent in the mighty Insta. In fact, during the early 90s they did a stint of hard time in the now-defunct underground dreampop sensations Alison's Halo. So, If you're feeling a little mopey and want to relive the glory days of the beautiful noise era or buy a few cool records, get your pasty little booties over to the official Alison's Halo website)
